Details of artistic director Lynette Linton's inaugural season at the Bush Theatre were revealed earlier this week.

In a programme with inclusivity at its core, there are six début plays from writers across the UK and Ireland and the concluding work in the Passing The Baton series which is to be Chiaroscuro by poet and playwright Jackie Kay, to be directed by Linton:

  • Chiaroscuro by Jackie Kay
  • Baby Reindeer written and performed by Richard Gadd
  • The Arrival written and directed by Bijan Sheibani
  • The High Table by Temi Wilkey
  • Level Up written and performed by Malachi Kirby
  • I Wanna Be Yours by Zia Ahmed
  • Collapsible by Margaret Perry

In announcing the season, Linton also named five senior artistic associates: actresses Martha Plimpton and Adjoa Andoh, movement director Polly Bennett and producers Shawab Iqbal and Tobi Kyeremateng and there is also to be a writer in residence.

Alongside the Emerging Writers’ Group and West London Playwrights’ Group, there is Project 2036 to support the development of BAMER practitioners, whilst community engagement continues through the community associate companies programme.

For June next year, there is to be the start of a First Look Festival in which audiences can see work in development which will première in later seasons.
