Insane Animals, a musical comedy from cabaret duo Bourgeois & Maurice, premièred at HOME, Manchester in March 2020 and ran for three weeks, becoming one of the venue’s best-selling shows. Now an original cast recording brings it back to life.

Released one year after its première and funded in part by a Kickstarter campaign, audiences can enjoy each of the 16 songs from the show in their slyly subversive style.

The story begins with humanity facing extinction by way of multiple threats. But hope lies somewhere in the first story that humans ever wrote down: The Epic of Gilgamesh.

It’s an anarchic unravelling of past and present, fact and fiction, life and death. Held together with hairspray.
