Following the cut in funding from the Arts Council, the Irish Theatre Magazine has had to suspend publishing new content.

The magazine began publishing in 1998 and became an online-only publication in 2009, reliant on Arts Council funding due to the loss of cover price, subscriptions and advertising revenues.

Acting Editor, Peter Crawley has said, “It is the only publication committed to comprehensive coverage of professional theatre in Ireland, North and South, and it has relied on the passion of its writers and the sustained interest of its readers to respond to the changing stages of Irish theatre.”

The Magazine now seeks to safeguard its archive and serve as a resource for readers, audiences, fans and researchers.
