It's not just Cinderella that gets a coach

A huge 40% of theatregoers travel to the West End by coach but narrow streets and lack of parking spaces has caused congestion for road users and disruption for residents.

Westminster City Council has revealed an innovative scheme that will see 24 coach bays created on the edge of theatreland, an initiative supported by both theatres and the coach trade.

Coupled with a discount for drivers in the local Café Amici on Kingsway, the new parking facility should see more timely and streamlined drop–offs and pick–ups from the vast number of theatres nearby.

Hopefully the Council will address next the problem of drunkenness and anti–social behaviour that blights the centre and puts off families from going to the West End.
