Pride and Prejudice adapted as two–hander to tour UK

Jane Austen’s 200-year-old novel has been adapted for the stage in a work to be played by only two actors.

Originally seen last year at Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds, this re–working uses Austen's own words.

The adaptation is by Joannah Tincey, who says: “I wanted to create an adaptation where the characters talk to the audience in the same way that Austen talks to her reader.

"By addressing the audience directly and allowing the characters to speak for themselves, we are bringing Jane Austen’s unique and witty writing style to life in a truly theatrical context.”

Pride and Prejudice is directed by Abigail Anderson and stars Joannah Tincey and Nicholas Underwood. It will open at Salisbury Playhouse on 18 September moving to Exeter Cygnet Theatre and then:
