The JW3 Dance Commission invites dance artists and companies to create a new dance work about Jewish life and culture to première in June 2016.

JW3 is looking for work that explores themes of Jewish culture and heritage and has a wide audience appeal. Collaborations with other artforms are encouraged, but not compulsory.

The commission is funded by Rayne Foundation and can be used as seed funding to attract financial support from other sources. It includes a £3,000 commission fee, rehearsal space in London, technical support from the JW3 team, mentoring from dance programmer Chris Hutchings, a dedicated producer for project development, marketing and PR support for performances and two performances at JW3 in June 2016.

To apply, send a cover letter including the proposed project (600 words), a list of key collaborators and short biography for each (300 words), why you would like to make the work at JW3 specifically (200 words) supported by a current CV, up to two videos of recent work and up to two images of recent work.

Completed applications should reach [email protected] by 5PM on Friday 29 January 2016.
