Theatre by the Lake in Keswick is looking for a community cast of "adventurous mature women" to join its professional acting company in bringing to life The Ladykillers by Graham Linehan, the madcap comedy based on one of the best-loved British pictures of all time.

Women aged 55 or over are invited to apply and there's no upper age limit.

The Ladykillers tells the story of an elderly lady, Mrs Wilberforce, who is pitted against five criminals intent on pulling off the heist of the century… as the plot thickens, so do Mrs W’s suspicions.

After using a community cast for 2016’s The Shepherd’s Life and 2017’s After the Dance, TBTL is offering the chance to appear in the summer production on the Main House stage. As well as performing, the opportunity includes attending rehearsals in Keswick with the cast, being involved with the production week and working alongside director Chris Honer.

The production runs from 24 May to 30 October, but community cast members do not need to be available for the full run. The theatre aims to recruit a large cohort, and a rehearsal and performance schedule will be created based on availability.
