ATG co-founder Howard Panter has received a knighthood for services to theatre.

He has said of the honour, “I am absolutely delighted to have been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List and humbled to receive this prestigious award."

He also recognised his wife and business partner: "I reserve special gratitude to my wife and partner in all that I do, Rosemary Squire, without whom much of what has been achieved would not have been possible.”

Since its founding in 1992, ATG has become a leading player in the industry with co-productions in London, New York, North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. It owns thirty–nine UK venues and one in the US and employs four thousand people.

Earlier this year The Sunday Times PwC Profit Track 100 list has Ambassador Theatre Group in sixth position. The ranking is by profit growth over three-years.
