Lear marks Talawa anniversary

Don Warrington as Lear

Michael Buffong and Don Warrington visit the Royal Exchange Theatre with an epic new version of King Lear from April 1 to May 7 and at Birmingham Repertory Theatre from May 19 to 28.

Returning to the stage where they collaborated on All My Sons, Warrington is joined on stage by Philip Whitchurch as the Earl of Gloucester and Miltos Yerolemou as the Fool. Alfred Enoch makes his Royal Exchange debut as Edgar.

A co-production with Talawa Theatre Company and in association with Birmingham Repertory Company, Lear is presented as part of the celebrations for Talawa’s 30th anniversary year and will be directed by Buffong.

The cast also includes Fraser Ayres, Rakie Ayola, Rhys Bevan, Norman Bowman, Thomas Coombes, Sam Glen, Wil Johnson, Debbie Korley, Pepter Lunkuse, Miles Mitchell, Mark Springer and Sarah Quist.
