Les Mis takes top two slots in Radio 2 chart

As part of the BBC's celebration of musical theatre, listeners to Radio 2 were invited to vote for their favourite song from a musical. Given a shortlist of fifty songs, the top ten favourites were revealed today on Elaine Paige on Sunday.

Les Misérables took the top two slots with "One Day More Day" and "Bring Him Home". Other shows to get two songs into the top 20 are West Side Story with "Somewhere" and "America" and Hamilton with and "Alexander Hamilton" and "The Room Where It Happens".

Readers will have to look down as far as number 7 to see Tim Rice, number 8 to see Andrew Lloyd Webber and number 9 to see Stephen Sondheim, all of whom get three mentions in the top 20 across different shows.
