IF: Milton Keynes International Festival announces its 2014 programme, commissions and premières, from large-scale spectaculars to intimate experiences.
IF returns for its third edition from 18 to 27 July and is bigger than ever: ten days of international performance and dance, contemporary circus, installations, live music, comedy, cabaret, talks and many free events.
The Festival will take place in locations across central Milton Keynes exploring the cityscape and parklands, the built environment and the great outdoors, continuing its mission to transform the way people think about Milton Keynes.
To celebrate the beginning of the summer holidays, the Festival has also created IF: Family Focus, a special programme of family-friendly shows and experiences for children and grown-ups.
Produced by music organisation The Stables, the Festival is again underpinned by the theme of sound and music and seeks to engage audiences in new and surprising ways. This year’s commissions are Kaffe Matthews’s The lock shift songs, Rosemary Lee’s Under the Vaulted Sky, SKRYF with words by Jackie Kay and Melanie Pappenheim’s Falling.
