London Contemporary Dance School’s End of Year Season show, 24 June to 11 July 2014, at The Place provides an opportunity to see the next generation of dance artists, as they celebrate the completion of their learning and development at one of the world’s leading dance conservatoires.

Opening the season (Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 June) are two mixed-bill nights of performance and choreography by both undergraduate and postgraduate students of LCDS.

Over three nights in June (Thursday 26, Friday 27, Saturday 28), EDge, the postgraduate company of The Place, presents a programme that has toured across the UK, Europe and for the first time Israel.

There will be a Live Stream of the performance on Thursday 26 June, so audiences around the world can watch, plus there will be a chance to get involved via an interactive Q&A session with the dancers.

The Graduation Performances (Friday 4 to Friday 11 July) will feature more than 60 undergraduate and postgraduate students performing works by five specially commissioned choreographers who span a breadth of contemporary dance practice alongside selected student choreography.

No two nights will be the same, with each evening presenting a different programme of work. There will be a matinée performance on Wednesday 9 July.

Each year, more than 90% of London Contemporary Dance School graduates go on to work professionally in dance.

Out of the 12 postgraduate students who have completed LCDS Apprenticeships in 2014, 11 have so far been confirmed as full members of professional dance companies, including Francesco Ferrari and Amy Hollingshead (Scottish Dance Theatre), Ihsaan De Banya and Jenny Hayes (Richard Alston Dance Company), Hanna Nussbaumer (Norrdans), Emily Pottage (National Dance Company Wales), Alistair Goldsmith (Punchdrunk), Kit Brown (Welsh National Opera), Theo Samsworth, Louis Parker Evans and Daniella Selwood (Tavaziva).
