Shakespearian classic Othello, which has been given a reworking by Frantic Assembly, opens in London this month.

Re–set by Frantic's artistic director Scott Graham, the tragedy plays out during the Yorkshire race riots of 2001 and is delivered with the company's celebrated high-energy choreography.

This Theatre Royal Plymouth co-production, arrives at the Lyric Hammersmith following a successful UK tour.

Mark Ebulue, kickboxer, plays Othello. Steven Miller, known as Lenny Lyons in Casualty, plays Iago and Kirsty Oswald plays Desdemona.

Scott Graham and Eddie Kay have collaborated on new choreography for this revival of a 2008 production originally developed at the Lyric Hammersmith by Frantic Assembly and Theatre Royal Plymouth in association with Royal & Derngate Northampton.

Othello runs at the Lyric Hammersmith from 13 January to 7 February. It contains scenes of a violent nature and is suitable for ages 14+.
