Major tours head to Nottingham over the winter

Dirty Dancing which appears at Nottingham's Theatre Royal from 12 February until 2 March

Two productions that started life in the West End and a couple of musical theatre classics are among the offerings in Nottingham over the winter.

The programme the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall from December to February starts with this year’s panto, Cinderella.

John Partridge will lead the cast as Prince Charming alongside Sheila Ferguson, former lead singer of the Three Degrees, as the Fairy Godmother and comedy double-act The Grumbleweeds as the broker’s men.

Cinderella runs in the Theatre Royal from Saturday, 8 December until Sunday, 13 January.

Former West End show Abigail’s Party by Mike Leigh visits from 21 until 26 January and is followed by the National Theatre tour of Richard Bean’s One Man, Two Guvnors, with Rufus Hound playing Francis Henshall, from 29 January until 2 February.

The first national tour of Dirty Dancing takes up a three-week residency at the Theatre Royal from 12 February until 2 March.

In the Royal Concert Hall four soloists will be singing numbers from a selection of West End musicals in A West End Christmas on 20 December before the venue celebrates Christmas with the Rat Pack on 28 December.

The all-male divas of Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo stage ballet as it has never been seen before on 8 and 9 February. Moscow City Ballet will present a more conventional staging of Swan Lake from 21 until 23 February.
