Seat of fun: Jason Manford

Jason Manford, said to be a favourite with Northampton audiences, has been honoured with a plaque on a seat at the town’s Royal and Derngate.

Manford, currently playing Frank Cioffi in the musical Curtains, previously appeared at the venue in the tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in 2016.

Royal and Derngate chief executive Jo Gordon commented, “naming a seat can make a really unusual present or provide a lasting memory at the same time as supporting Royal and Derngate’s work.

“What better way to relaunch our Name a Seat scheme than by sharing the news that we’re naming a seat after Jason in recognition of all the brilliant ways he’s brought fun and laughter to Northampton audiences.”
