Julian Glover and Nichola McAuliffe in Maurice's Jubilee

After a sell-out at this year’s Edinburgh Festival, the play Maurice’s Jubilee will open its national tour at the Opera House in Manchester from January 24-26.

It’s Olivier Award-winning Nichola McAuliffe’s most recent play and reprises her role at the Opera House as Katie, alongside fellow Olivier winner Julian Glover (Maurice) and Sheila Reid.

It’s described as a funny and poignant take on timeless themes, the exploration of one man’s enduring commitment to a dream, and an eternal love triangle, fallen on hard times.

McAuliffe won The Stage Edinburgh Award for Best Actress for her role and the play follows the international success of A British Subject. On screen she remains best known for playing Sheila Sabatini in Surgical Spirit.
