The Geordie Panto Co is offering not one, but two pantos for families to watch online free of charge this year.
“It has been a tough year for everyone,” said Director, Producer and Dame Maxie Peters. “Our business has suffered massively as a result of lockdown.
“We are conscious that the impact on families of lockdown has been significant and we wanted to bring a little piece of normality back to this Christmas, so we took the unprecedented decision to live stream two of our best loved pantomimes, 2019’s Cinderella and 2018’s Aladdin, over Christmas.”
And so, on those days when many families traditionally want to see a panto, Christmas Eve and Boxing Day, these live streams will be available for free to everyone who is able to watch online. The shows will air on both Facebook and Youtube, with Cinderella showing at 11:00 and 4:00 on Christmas Eve, followed by Aladdin at 11:00 and 2:00 on Boxing Day.
Although viewing is free, the company is asking for audiences to donate something to the Gateshead Food Bank, the company’s regular charity.
