National Theatre adds to spring programme

Simon Russell Beale plays King Lear

As previously announced, a new play by Carrie Cracknell and Nick Payne will open at the National Theatre's temporary venue, The Shed in January.

Blurred Lines, which looks at contemporary gender politics has music by Stuart Earle and the cast includes Marion Bailey, Michaela Coel, Bryony Hannah, Sinéad Matthews, Ruth Sheen, Claire Skinner and Susannah Wise.

New for the Olivier Theatre in January is Simon Russell Beale in the title role of King Lear. Sam Mendes will direct this production which has Kate Fleetwood as Goneril, Anna Maxwell Martin as Regan and Olivia Vinall as Cordelia.

A Taste Of Honey opens at the Lyttelton Theatre in February directed by Bijan Sheibani. Lesley Sharp plays Helen and Kate O’Flynn plays Jo, the teenager who finds herself pregnant and alone in post-war Salford.

In the same space from the end of February, Analogue is in repertoire to 20 March. Daniel Kitson's new show about a pre-recorded story has only 12 performances.
