Samantha Lane - new artistic director for Little Angel Theatre

Director of projects at the Almeida Theatre, Samantha Lane, is to be the new artistic director at north London's Little Angel Theatre from next month. She will also work as a producer and hold the post of chief executive.

As well as being responsible for the Creative Learning department at the Almeida, Lane has been an Education Associate for the Michael Grandage Company, manager of the education department of the Queen’s Theatre in Hornchurch and she is author of Directing Theatre with Young People: A Guide to Staging Plays with Young Casts.

Lane said, “I am absolutely thrilled to be taking on the role of Artistic Director / Producer at Little Angel Theatre. I have been a huge fan of the theatre's work for many years, seeing numerous fantastic shows myself and bringing my children to see the great shows that they produce for families.

"I look forward to continuing to programme and produce excellent work for everyone who comes to the theatre, and to leading the organisation into its next exciting phase.”

The Little Angel Theatre was left without an artistic director after Adam Bennett stepped down as artistic director and chief executive after only nine months in post, citing on Tumblr "the tension between artistic expression and commercial output".
