Lincoln-based Chapterhouse Theatre Company has just begun touring six productions to more than 100 venues across the UK and Ireland.
Chapterhouse began by performing Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet at 30 venues in 2000.
This year the company is on the road with A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Twelfth Night as well as Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility, and two new family-friendly shows, Kenneth Grahame’s The Wind in the Willows and Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes and the Hound of the Baskervilles.
All the productions apart from the Shakespeare plays have been adapted for the stage by Laura Turner.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream starts at Nottingham Castle on Thursday and Friday, and the Holiday Inn, Crick, Northamptonshire on Saturday.
Pride and Prejudice visits Donington Le Heath Manor House near Coalville in Leicestershire on Wednesday.
