Greenwich Dance’s Board of Directors announce the appointment of Kat Bridge as Artistic Director, Amanda Davey as Executive Director, and jointly as co-directors of the organisation.

A meeting place for artists, audiences and communities, Greenwich Dance looks to making great dance happen through incubation, creation, participation and performance and helping set the standard for dance locally, nationally and internationally.

Since 2012, Greenwich Dance has worked in partnership with Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance to provide dance performances, professional development for dance artists, as well as community and education work across south-east London. The partnership receives National Portfolio funding from Arts Council England.

Peter Conway, Chair of Greenwich Dance, said: “Amanda and Kat have been working as Interim Directors since the departure of our longstanding Director, Brendan Keaney, in 2013. Together they have a wealth of knowledge and experience and are passionate advocates for change.

"As a Board we have sought to develop the best model of leadership for the organisation. Kat and Amanda are the future of dance leadership in the UK; we look forward to working alongside them in continuing to position Greenwich Dance as one of the foremost dance development organisations in the UK and beyond.”

Amanda Davey, Executive Director, said: “I am delighted to have been appointed Executive Director at what is an incredibly exciting time for Greenwich Dance. Together, Kat and I will build on the legacy left by Brendan and alongside our wonderful staff team will lead this organisation into its next phase of development.

"The commitment of £5 million from the Royal Borough of Greenwich towards the development of our home, The Borough Hall, is remarkable. We look forward to leading this process, creating a world-class cultural hub here in Greenwich and ensuring the continued resilience of Greenwich Dance for years to come.”

Kat Bridge, Artistic Director, said: “I am proud to be appointed Artistic Director. With Amanda, I look forward to leading Greenwich Dance into a new chapter of creative collaboration, developing our reputation as a distinctive international home for the creation of new work which empowers artists, audiences and participants from near and far.

"I feel particularly invigorated about championing both excellence for all and artform innovation in partnership with Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance. Using the rigours of research and the dialogue between dance and music we will explore, take risks, refine and extend our offer.”
