Northern Ballet, in collaboration with CinEvents, is making its cinematic debut in the new year with more than 200 screenings across the UK of some of its most popular children’s ballets, starting with Tortoise & the Hare and Elves & the Shoemaker in January and February 2019 with more, including Three Little Pigs, later in 2019.

Northern Ballet began creating short ballets for young children in 2013 and its repertoire now includes six ballets based on well-known children’s fairy tales. The shows tour widely and feature live music and have been seen live by a combined audience of more than 212,000 people, with TV adaptations reaching 1M viewers.

The ballets feature performances by Northern Ballet’s dancers, but for cinema, they have been enhanced with animations, narration by BBC's Anita Rani and dance demos for children to learn some of the moves.

Tortoise & the Hare will launch in cinemas on 26 January 2019 and Elves & the Shoemaker on 23 February 2019. To find your closest participating cinemas, find out more information and to book tickets, see the Bitesized Ballets web site.
