A night of story-telling, by some of the most exciting writers from the region, is promised at Preston’s Korova Arts Café on Friday.

The following Monday the same line-up can be seen at The Castle Hotel in Manchester.

Lancaster’s annual promenade play, in Williamson Park, from the city’s Dukes Theatre may be over but there’s still a lot more open-air life in the setting...

It starts next Wednesday, when the cast of touring theatre company Illyria recreates the comic G&S opera The Mikado in the venue’s Dell location.

After its UK tour première last October, 9 to 5: The Musical, with music by Dolly Parton, is returning to the Opera House in Manchester, next Tuesday to Saturday.

Reprising their roles are Natalie Casey as Judy Bernly, Jackie Clune as Violet Newstead, Amy Lennox as Doralee Rhodes, Ben Richards as Franklin Hart and Anita Louise Combe as Ros Keith.
