Gareth Gates and Jennifer Ellison headline the cast of the international award-winning hit Legally Blonde The Musical as Warner and Paulette when it comes to the Opera House in Manchester from next Tuesday through to September 22.

William Wycherley’s raunchy Restoration comedy The Country Wife opens the new season at Manchester’s Royal Exchange Theatre from Wednesday through to October 20.

Banned for nearly 200 years for its bawdiness, the play will be brought back to life by a cast that includes Felix Scott whose film work includes Inception and TV roles include regular character DC Jason Doyle in BBC 1 drama series Missing.

One of the most talked-about shows at last year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe, The World of Wrong is coming to The Lowry in Salford on as part of a UK tour.

A genre-defying blend of dance, cabaret and comedy, the show celebrates and reinterprets the classic double act, while casting a light on the world of murk that often lurks beneath the spotlight.

Salford-set Wrecked is the latest work from award-winning writer Reuben Johnson, based on his childhood home of Little Hulton, with a cast featuring Salford actors. Wrecked will benefit from involvement in The Lowry’s Developed With programme, which provides creative and practical support to the best emerging talent from the North West and beyond.

It runs from next Thursday to Saturday.

Direct from the country that won four gold medals in gymnastics in the London Olympics, comes the internationally-acclaimed production of Cirque du Ciel’s ShangHi.

It’s at The Lowry in Salford next Friday and Saturday.
