OffWestEnd Awards

Last week, OffWestEnd revealed the 86 Offies award finalists for work produced in 2021.

Recognising the achievements of independent, fringe and alternative theatres from across London, the Offies are split into 26 categories, with the finalists this year representing work from 24 different venues.

The winners across these categories, which include lead and supporting performance awards and awards for design (costume / set / lighting / sound / video), direction, musical direction and choreography, will be chosen by a panel of judges.

In addition, there are Offies awards for the venues themselves that are chosen by public vote. There are nine categories covering programming to facilities, and voting is now open.

OffWestEnd Director Geoffrey Brown said, “post-lockdown, there have been many fantastic shows in 2021, and OffWestEnd is delighted that we are able to recognise and celebrate the best of this work.”

In response to the volume and range of work that was made available online during, and because of, lockdown, OffWestEnd broadened the scope of its awards to include OnComm awards for online shows for which the finalists will be announced shortly.

The Offies, OnComm and special award winners will be announced at a free to watch online ceremony on 20 February via Scenesaver (pre-registration required).
