Blonde Bombshells of 1943 at Oldham Coliseum

Oldham Coliseum Theatre is staging Alan Plater’s Blonde Bombshells of 1943, the play with music from 1940s classics by Fats Waller, The Andrews Sisters and Glen Miller.

Based on the BBC TV film The Last of the Blonde Bombshells (starring Judi Dench and Ian Holm) it takes its characters back to a band’s heyday in 1943 to find out how they teamed up in the first place.

This is another co-production with award-winning New Vic Theatre, a theatre in-the-round in Newcastle-under-Lyme, following the success of The Glass Menagerie and And a Nightingale Sang.
