The ceremony for the 37th Olivier Awards, the UK’s most prestigious stage honours, will take place on Sunday 28 April at the Royal Opera House in London, with live radio coverage on BBC Radio 2 and televised highlights broadcast by ITV the same evening.

Double Olivier Award winners, Sheridan Smith will co–host and Julia McKenzie will provide voiceovers. Other details have not yet been announced.

The Audience Award for the Most Popular Show, presented by BBC Radio 2, is selected exclusively by public vote which closes on Monday 18 March, and local theatre enthusiasts can join in the fun and celebrations in Covent Garden piazza where big screens will relay the red carpet excitement, performances from West End shows and the Awards.

The Award–giving will be preceded by a nominations event on Tuesday 26 March which will include, for the first time, the Award nominations being announced live on radio (BBC Radio 2 at 11:30AM).
