Every year, theatre enthusiasts from the public form part of the judging panel for prestigious theatre awards, 'the Oliviers', and applications can now be made for the 2014 judging period which starts on 6 March.
Public panellists receive two complimentary tickets and a programme for each show, and are required to see every show in the category to which they sign up. They are also able to attend the awards ceremony and post-show party.
There are four categories:
- Theatre
- Affiliate (smaller non-West End London theatres)
- Opera
- Dance.
For each one the application process is the same—initially the submission of a 150-word review and a list of all productions seen in the previous 12 months, followed by an interview if short-listed.
All applicants must be at least 18 and live within easy reach of London. The closing date is 5 February 2013.
The application form and full details are available at www.olivierawards.com.
