To mark International Dance Day on 29 April, the BBC announced the return of the Dance Season to BBC TV, radio and digital platforms in early 2022.

As part of this celebration, BBC Arts and One Dance UK have announced an open call for dance companies, independent artists, choreographers based in the UK and associated technical partners to apply for funding to create five short-form films and five interactive projects.

Dance Passion is supported by funding from Arts Council England’s National Lottery Project Grants programme. Applications opened on 30 April.

BBC Commissioning Executive, Digital and Festivals, Stephen James-Yeoman said, “after the most difficult year for arts organisations and performers alike, it is thrilling to announce the return of the Dance Season to the BBC, particularly with initiatives that highlight our ongoing commitment to nurturing young talents and attracting creative ideas from every corner of the dance scene in the UK.”
