One Dance UK has launched its Young Creatives programme for young people to explore their choreographic creativity.

Launched in 2008 and delivered by One Dance UK, the Royal Opera House and Rambert, Young Creatives is aimed at young people between the ages of 15 and 19 (up to 25 for those with disabilities) who are interested in choreography.

Sir Richard Alston, Artistic Director of Richard Alston Dance Company and Champion of Young Creatives, said, “for me, Young Creatives gets to the heart of the matter. It gives young people the time and space to explore their own ideas and I find their openness and creativity inspiring.”

Successful applicants will develop their choreographic ideas supported by creative mentors before presenting them at the Linbury Studio at the Royal Opera House. There will be a performance of Young Creatives' work as part of the U.Dance National Youth Dance Festival at Southbank Centre on 20 and 21 July 2019.

Young Creatives is open to any dance style or genre and previous experience is not necessary. For further information, contact Laura Nicholson, Head of Children and Young People, at [email protected].
