Residents at Notting Hill's Victorian playhouse the Coronet, Print Room, opened their new season this week with family drama Five Finger Exercise. Jamie Glover directs this piece by Peter Shaffer whose other credits include Amadeus and Equus.

In the cast are Jason Merrells, Lucy Cohu, Lorne MacFadyen and Tom Morley.

The other theatre production of the spring season is Jean Genet's Deathwatch. Thirty years on from its last London airing, this revival sees Geraldine Alexander direct the drama for a contemporary audience.

Deathwatch is Genet's his first play (he went on to write The Maids); it is set in a prison where evil is valued over good. This production uses the translation of David Rudkin.

The Coronet also plays host to dance, opera, children's shows, and poetry events. This season includes Terra, the final part of a dance trilogy by choreographer and Print Room artistic associate Hubert Essakow. The composer is Jean-Michel Bernard.
