As part of this year’s Refugee Week (20–26 June) Luca Silvestrini’s Protein is presenting a programme of events sharing its work with refugees and asylum seekers, including a dance workshop with Lewisham Refugee and Migrant Network, training for artists working with refugees and the première screening of their new documentary There and Here.

In March and April, Protein invited asylum seekers and refugees to participate in a dance project as part of its inclusion programme Real Life Real Dance. The group, aged from 19 to 70 and from all over the world, came together for three and a half weeks, culminating in a dance and music performance at The Place, There And Here. The documentary about the process will première at Woolwich Works on 25 June alongside artist and refugee-led craft workshops, dance and music activities and a free buffet lunch.

Earlier in the week, Silvestrini will lead a community dance workshop at Woolwich Common Community Centre, alongside boxing, yoga and craft activities and a free lunch.
