Applications are now open for PULSE Festival Ipswich 2015, the annual festival, now in its 15th year, which is part-curated and part open application.

PULSE Festival runs over 10 days offering a snapshot of contemporary national and international theatre and performance. The festival programme includes work across a variety of genres and at different stages of development, including a day of Scratch performances.

The Festival also offers The Suitcase Prize which encourages theatre makers to think in an environmentally and economically sustainable way in the development of a new work able to tour on public transport in hand–carried luggage.

PULSE Festival is produced by the New Wolsey Theatre in partnership with festival directors China Plate. Committed to accessibility within theatre, the Festival hopes to welcome more applicants from disabled-led companies.

The venue has recently further developed its commitment to arts for all with the appointment of two Agents For Change.

These new posts support the venue's diversity principles with Amy Nettleton working with the Creative Learning team and Jamie Beddard working with the Artistic and Programming team.

The new freelance roles will create, administer and advise on how the building and staff can work more accessibly with its users, be they deaf or disabled artists, performers, audiences or staff.

The New Wolsey's current and spring programme of work provides accessible performances for panto, Beauty And The Beast, All My Sons, The History Boys, The Picture of Doreen Gray, Blood Wedding, Secret Diaries, The Secret Adversary, The Business Of Murder and Feed The Beast.

Wave and The Forest are created for young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities and Circles In The Sand is suitable for those on the autism spectrum.

Further details are available from the New Wolsey Theatre web site.

PULSE Festival Ipswich runs from 28 May to 6 June. Applications are to be made via the online application form; the deadline for applications is 9 January.
