Members of the public sought to help with research

A new research project run by Dr Helen Brooks, a theatre historian from the School of Arts, University of Kent, is looking for members of the public who would like to help undertake research on theatre during the First World War.

The project aims to survey every play written for performance between 1 August 1914 and 31 December 1918 and to create a public database.

The plays are all held at the British Library and members of research team will receive a British Library reader card and travel expenses of up to £60 per day.

No experience is required as training will be provided and work will be alongside Dr Brooks but applicants must commit to a minimum of two days working at the British Library on any of 20, 21 April, 4, 5, 25, 26 May and 8, 9, 15, 16 June.

Members of the research team will work in the manuscripts reading room at The British Library near St Pancras / King’s Cross stations in London.

For more information and to download an application form visit the project's web site. The deadline for applications is 15 December 2015.
