Regent stokes up quality shows for autumn

“World-class productions, family favourites, much loved musicals and popular plays” will take to the stage in the new season at Stoke’s Regent Theatre and Victoria Hall.

October signals the start of the new season with four hit shows. Carnaby Street visits the Regent from 7 until 12 October, Dreamboats and Petticoats from 14 until 19 October and two Andrew Lloyd-Webber shows, Evita from 21 until 26 October and Cats from 28 October until 2 November.

The following month brings West Side Story to the Regent from 12 until 16 November while ballet fans may be excited to hear that Moscow City Ballet will be visiting for the first time with Swan Lake on 26 and 27 November and The Nutcracker on 28 November.

Stoke favourite Jonathan Wilkes will team up with Christian Patterson in this year’s panto Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs from 3 to 8 December and 17 December until 5 January.

Ghost, direct from the West End, visits the Regent from 8 until 18 January.

It will be followed by Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat from 18 until 22 February; Buddy—The Buddy Holly Story from 3 until 8 March; and Tonight’s The Night—The Rod Stewart Musical from 24 until 29 March.

In the Victoria Hall, the Reduced Shakespeare Company presents The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) [revised] on Sunday, 20 October and the Christmas show of That’ll Be the Day drops in on Thursday 19 December.
