Supported by Arts Council England Strategic Touring Fund, the Royal Exchange in Manchester will tour a brand-new production of Gareth Farr’s Bruntwood Prize winning play Britannia Waves The Rules.

Farr’s poetic portrait of Carl, a young man adrift in his home town of Blackpool, will play community venues across the region (including the resort) returning to places visited during the 2014 tour of Black Roses: The Killing Of Sophie Lancaster, and developing relationships with many new venues.

An intense and transfixing account of a journey from the rock-filled shops of Blackpool to the mountains of Afghanistan, Britannia Waves The Rules will begins its tour at the Royal Exchange, Swan Street Studios on October 2.

The play was given a Judges' Award in the 2011 Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting and premièred at the Exchange in 2014 to critical acclaim. Luke Roskell makes his Exchange debut in the role of Carl.
