Shirley Ann Field, Karen Ford and Érin Geraghty appear in Ladies in Retirement, the first of three plays in Wolverhampton Grand’s summer play season.

Ladies in Retirement is a “nail-biting Victorian melodrama with thrilling twists and a taut plot line that will keep the audience on the edge of their seats throughout”.

Set in the 1880s and based on a murder that took place in a remote country house, Ladies in Retirement “promises an evening filled with suspense, eerie mystery and excitement”.

Shirley Anne Field last appeared at the Grand in The Cemetery Club in 2012. Karen Ford was in the 2013 Grand production of A Murder Has Been Arranged.

Directed by Ian Dickens, Ladies in Retirement by Edward Percy and Reginald Denham runs at the Grand from Tuesday until Saturday (3 until 7 June).

The summer play season continues with Design for Murder by Donald F East from 17 until 21 June and David Campton’s Carmilla from 8 until 12 July.
