Educating Rita and Malala Yousafzai are the unusual pair of inspirations for a one-off theatre event at The Dukes in Lancaster next month.
One Book, One Pen is inspired by The Dukes forthcoming production of Willy Russell’s play and a quote by the Nobel prizewinning education campaigner Malala.
It will explore the theme of education based on the experiences of asylum seekers and refugees who have left their homes to settle in the Lancaster and Morecambe area.
This new technique received acclaim when used in the National Theatre’s production of London Road.
