Two comedies will open the Rose Theatre Kingston's new season: firstly Jenny Seagrove and Sara Crowe star in Fallen Angels by Noël Coward, followed by Michael Frayn farce Donkeys’ Years which will be directed by Lisa Spirling who last year directed the author's Here at the venue.

Former Artistic Director Stephen Unwin also returns to The Rose directing a Theatre Royal Bath production of Moon Tiger by Simon Reade, based on Penelope Lively’s novel and staring Jane Asher.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Comedy of Errors will be presented in rep by Propeller, followed by Bertolt Brecht’s The Life of Galileo from the RSC in a translation by Mark Ravenhill, and Brian Friel’s Translations, an English Touring Theatre and Sheffield Theatres co-production.

Two adaptations follow that, Hetty Feather based on Jacqueline Wilson’s story adapted by Emma Reeves and Philippa Pearce’s Tom’s Midnight Garden adapted by David Wood. For younger audiences, Tall Stories brings Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s The Gruffalo to The Rose.

Visits from The Comedy Store, one night readings, stand up, jazz and opera complete the season.

Some audio-described performance and a touch tour are programmed and some productions are subject to age guidance.
