Primetime, a collection of nine ten-minute plays written by pupils of London primary schools will be shown at the Royal Court's Jerwood Theatre Upstairs in May.

It will then tour schools accompanied by workshops introducing young people to playwriting.

Vicky Featherstone, Artistic Director of the Royal Court Theatre, said, “This tour is one of the most important things the Royal Court can do. To encourage young writers, to produce their work professionally, to captivate audiences with these imaginative and fearless plays will endlessly inspire and ensure that the future of theatre is safe in their hands.”

The Royal Court has previously showcased the work of schoolchildren in Kids Court, part of the Open Court season aimed at young people and families and has previously toured Suhayla El-Bushra’s play Pigeons to secondary schools.
