Dominic Cooke looks both backwards and forwards in programming the new season, his last after nearly seven years as Artistic Director at the Royal Court Theatre.
Returning playwrights are Bruce Norris, Polly Stenham and Anthony Neilson:
Royal Court commission The Low Road by Bruce Norris will be directed by Dominic Cooke who directed The Pain and the Itch in his first season. Jeremy Herrin will direct Polly Stenham's No Quarter at the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs. Closing the season there will be a new play written and directed by Anthony Neilson.
New work is represented by If You Don’t Let Us Dream, We Won’t Let You Sleep by Anders Lustgarten which looks at the politics of global banking, a translation from Polish of A Time To Reap by Anna Wakulik concerning abortion, Catholicism and the Polish diaspora in London and Rough Cuts, a programme of experimental readings and works in progress on the theme of the Internet.
