Vivienne Franzmann's Pests at Manchester's Royal Exchange, London's Royal Court and then on tour

The new play by Vivienne Franzmann, Pests, opens next month at Manchester's Royal Exchange and then moves on to the Royal Court in London.

Staring Ellie Kendrick and Sinéad Matthews, this story about sisters, Pink and Rolly, is to be directed by Lucy Morrison head of artistic programme for Clean Break, a co–producer with the Royal Court Theatre and Royal Exchange Manchester.

The work is part of the Royal Court’s Jerwood New Playwrights programme; Franzmann made her Royal Court debut The Witness and won the Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting and the George Devine Award for Mogadishu. She received the Pearson Playwright Bursary in 2012.

Pests runs at the Royal Exchange Manchester from 12 to 22 March and at the Royal Court London from 27 March to 3 May; it will then tour to Traverse Theatre, Liverpool Playhouse, Drum Theatre, Plymouth and Birmingham Repertory Theatre. The play is suitable for age 16 and over.
