Sir Roger Moore has lent his support to The Lowry's current Christmas Appeal—which aims to encourage young parents across Salford to read more with their children.

The former James Bond—who held An Audience With at The Lowry earlier this year—has recorded an audio appeal that is played to audiences attending every performance of War Horse and Wanted! Robin Hood encouraging them to make a donation.

As part of the project, The Lowry will bring young parents and their children together with professional storytellers, writers and illustrators to write and publish their own children’s book. This will then be published and distributed to all community libraries and Salford City Council children’s centres.
