Families can enjoy festive cheer at The Dukes this Christmas as the Lancaster venue has announced a new, 'socially distanced' production of Sleeping Beauty.

Performed in the Round from December 11–31, this new take on the classic is co-written and co-directed by Sarah Punshon and Daniel Bye.

It also reunites the creative talents of the teams behind The Dukes’ recent Christmas productions of Aladdin, Peter Pan and last year’s Cinderella.

Dukes director Karen O’Neill said, “we have worked hard to create a socially distanced performance that captures all the magic of the festive season. It is important for us to continue to provide great, dynamic theatre for our communities safely.”

Seating plans are in place for performances, with different ‘pods’ available for people to book within their household.

Other safety measures include sanitiser stations to be used on entry and around the building and compulsory face masks.
