The Dukes Theatre in Lancaster has come up with a unique chance to own a personally signed copy of Gandalf’s staff from their award-winning outdoor production of The Hobbit—personally autographed by none other than Sir Ian McKellen who played the part in the movie trilogy.
Victoria Firth, interim director of The Dukes, explained, “we’re delighted to give our audiences and fans of Sir Ian the chance to own this one of a kind piece of Dukes history and raise much needed funds for our park show at the same time.”
As well as the staff, the winner will also receive a framed photograph of the moment Sir Ian signed it during his visit to The Dukes earlier this year.
All proceeds go towards the park show fundraising campaign, which aims to raise £85,000 to purchase new technical equipment to secure the future of the popular ‘play in the park’.
Tickets can be purchased until September 18 with the winner announced on Hobbit Day, Sunday September 22.
