“Tireless efforts”: the Macbeth cast

The Stafford Festival Shakespeare production of Macbeth was one of its most successful shows for more than a decade.

A total of 10,988 people saw the show at Stafford Castle—nearly 3,000 more than The Tempest in 2017 and the highest attendance since Romeo and Juliet in 2005.

Spokesman Thomas Waldron said, “to have nearly 11,000 people make the trip up to the castle is truly astounding and we’ve been completely bowled over by the positive reaction.

“We’ve been blessed with some exceptionally sunny weather these past few weeks—which poses its own challenges for everyone working on site at the castle—and thanks must go to our wonderful cast and crew for their tireless efforts.”
