Stars line up to read at h Club's World Book Night celebration

World Book Night: h Club

h Club London is going online for this year's celebration of World Book Night.

From the world of theatre and television, the event will host Gavin & Stacey actress Alison Steadman, Guardians of the Galaxy actress Ophelia Lovibond, Fleabag actor Anthony Welsh, comedian Ronni Ancona, The Young Ones actor Nigel Planer, Sex Education actress Simone Ashley, and Sex Education actor George Robinson, who will read from their favourite books.

They will be joined by authors who will read from their recently, or soon to be, released books including Dolly Alderton's Everything I Know About Love, Joanna Trollop's Mum and Dad, Mike Gayle's All The Lonely People (released in July), Ruth Hogan's Queenie Malone’s Paradise Hotel, John Niven's The F*ck-it List, Lucy Diamond's An Almost Perfect Holiday, Sophie Ward's Love and Other Thought Experiments and Derek Owusu'sThat Reminds Me.

The event will feature additional surprise guests, and h Club partner, Waterstones, is offering participants 25% off the RRP of these authors' books until 30 April using the code HCLUB.

h Club (formerly The Hospital Club) is a member's club for creatives and innovators with a London base and Los Angeles extension. Shortly it is to launch a digital membership scheme.

World Book Night will take place via Zoom on 23 April at 7PM. Links to the Zoom event will be sent out following registration.
