The Addams Family go out in 2021

The producers of musical comedy The Addams Family have announced that the UK and Ireland tour, prematurely shut down by the pandemic, will now start in Cardiff in the new year.

The cast will be led by Samantha Womack and Cameron Blakely who will reprise their roles of Morticia and Gomez Addams.

Womack's stage credits include South Pacific, Guys and Dolls, Betrayal and The Girl on the Train but she is best known for television's EastEnders. Blakely’s stage credits include Les Misérables, Oliver!, Rock of Ages and Eugenius!.

The Addams Family has a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice and music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa and is directed by Matthew White.

The director will be Matthew White. The producers are Katy Lipson for Aria Entertainment and Music and Lyrics Limited.

The show will visit New Theatre Cardiff, The Orchard Theatre Dartford, Liverpool Empire, Bradford Alhambra, Royal and Derngate Northampton, Bristol Hippodrome, Festival Theatre Edinburgh, New Wimbledon Theatre, Glasgow King’s Theatre, Bord Gais Energy Theatre Dublin, The Alexandra Birmingham, His Majesty's Theatre Aberdeen, Newcastle Theatre Royal, The Lowry Salford, Nottingham Theatre Royal, Hull New Theatre, Milton Keynes Theatre, Churchill Theatre Bromley, New Theatre Oxford and New Victoria Theatre Woking, with further venues to be announced.
