The Perfect Muder - Simona Armstrong as Kamila with Steven Miller as Roy Grace in current tour

The darkly comic thriller The Perfect Murder opens an autumn tour at the Canterbury Marlowe in September.

Robert Daws, Dawn Steele and Gray O'Brien star in award-winning writer Shaun McKenna’s stage adaptation of Peter James’s best-selling novel featuring Detective Roy Grace.

Many of the cast will be familiar to television watchers. Thomas Howes, who won a Screen Actors Guild Award for his portrayal of William the footman in Downton Abbey, has theatre credits that include The Winslow Boy and the National Theatre Production of The History Boys. Howes plays Detective Roy Grace.

Robert Daws played Dr Gordon Ormerod in ITV’s hospital drama The Royal, Sam Mountjoy in Roger Roger and Tuppy Glossop in Jeeves and Wooster. On stage his credits include The Secret of Sherlock Holmes and Public Property in the West End.

Dawn Steele played Alice Collins in ITV’s Wild at Heart and has starred in the BBC’s Monarch of the Glen and Sea of Souls. Her theatre credits include Verdict and Noël Coward’s Volcano in both the West End and on tour. Daws and Steele play husband and wife Victor and Joan Smiley.

Gray continues in the role of Don Kirk and Simona Armstrong in the role of Kamila. O’Brien has been seen in Coronation Street, Peak Practice and Casualty and in the West End in Sleuth. Armstrong was discovered in the BBC's How do You Solve a Problem Like Maria.

Ian Talbot directs.
