Two dance venues have teamed up to commission new family friendly dance shows for Christmas 2018 and 2019.
The Place and DanceEast will both present Vicki Igbokwe’s Uchenna Dance’s urban version of Hansel & Gretel and Luca Silvestrini’s Protein’s adaptation of the children’s classic The Little Prince. The collaboration marks the first time The Place has commissioned a family show for the festive season.
Hansel & Gretel will run at The Place this December, before touring throughout 2019 with a Christmas run at DanceEast’s Jerwood DanceHouse.
Following a preview in Eastleigh on 1 December 2018, The Little Prince will première at DanceEast’s Jerwood DanceHouse from 12 to 16 December, will tour during 2019 and be presented at The Place in time for Christmas 2019.
